Hurricane Recovery
Frequently Asked Questions
I prefer a hard copy version of the book, is
one available?
Right now, only the digital book is available, but there’s
a hard copy version in production and it should be available in about 6
months. Everyone who’s testimony is used in the hard copy
version, will get a free copy of the hard copy version, so be sure to
email your story about how much this book helped
you! It will be available on Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble, among
other popular places. You could become famous!
;-)
What is a digital book?
It’s the latest in digital technology that allows
you to read a book online and have access to active links you can click
on to see pictures or more information. The latest rage is Kindle books
which are digital, but require a special Kindle reader. This type of
digital book is one step ahead of Kindle because you don’t need to
purchase a special reader for it. In addition, Kindle books do not
allow you to access live internet links to videos, more information or
pictures.
An additional benefit of a digital book is that
many high resolution color photos are able to be used to demonstrate or
illustrate what is being discussed. The cost of this many color photos
in a hard copy of the book would be cost prohibitive. Most people tend
to be very visually oriented and appreciate the ability to see many full
color pictures and illustrations.
A third excellent benefit of a digital online
book is that no trees are harvested for the printing, therefore it is
the ultimate in “Going Green”. It also takes up virtually no space on
the planet.
Another excellent benefit of a digital book is
that you will receive it instantly and can be reading the book in less
than 5 minutes. No more waiting for a book to be ordered and arrive in
the mail. You can have this information in front of you right now!
A final benefit of a digital book is that since
there is no shipping, you save the shipping costs associated with
ordinary books.
What if I have a slow or dial up connection?
What if I can’t download it?
The file for this book has been compressed or condensed for instant
download. On most dial up connections, it downloads in only a few
seconds. We’ve never had anyone have a problem, but if you become the
first, the file can also be emailed to you. We will ensure that you get
your book!
I’m not very computer literate, do I need
anything special? What if I can’t figure out how to download it?
You will not need anything special at all to download or
read your book. The instructions are only to right click on the button
with your mouse and tell it where to save the book. Most people save it
in their “Documents” folder. If you have any problem at all, you can
get help from our customer service volunteers, who can email you the
book and bonuses if that is easier for you.
Do I need to print it? What if I don’t have a
printer?
While you can print the book if you want to, it diminishes
some of the value of the book, so most people don’t print it. The print
version will not have the ability to click on the links to see some
pictures, videos or
more information. You would need to return to your computer to click on
the links. In addition, we would hate to see our “Going Green” efforts
be wasted!
What if I use someone else’s or a public
computer?
You can save the book and store it on any
regular storage device from a CD to a memory stick and read it on any
computer. You can also print it if you want to.
What if my computer crashes and I lose the
book?
You are our customer for life. Anytime you need to
re-download the book or put it on another computer, you can just contact
us and you can download it again with no problem!
In addition, part of your purchase includes FREE lifetime
updates any time a new version of the book comes out. We believe
there’s always room for improvement and strive to keep up to date on all
the latest developments. Whenever a version is updated, you will be
entitled to a free copy of the new version.
What is Hurricane Recovery and why is my
payment going there?
Hurricane Recovery started out during Hurricane Katrina,
as a small group of volunteers that rescued and housed pets that were
displaced by the Hurricane. Pet food and supplies were brought into the
Hurricane ravaged areas and pets were rescued and brought out and kept
in a safe place for as long as was needed. Some of the foster care was
required to be very long term until the owners could be settled into new
housing where they could resume care of their pets.
The name stuck,
but our group has since evolved into rescuing unwanted horses, and any
type of pets or even sometimes wildlife in need of assistance. We are
also very active in sponsoring and participating in spay and neuter
clinics in Third World countries. We also participate in education
programs for pet owners in Third World countries.
We are very grateful to our authors
and all the other volunteers who help to manage the websites and other
tasks involved in making our group the success that it is!
